Garwood Design is Beth Sturm, a nationally known jewelry designer whose intricate pieces grew out of a life-long passion for beading.

Inspired by her mother – award-winning beader Janice Sturm – Beth began experimenting with jewelry-making when she was six years old. In the early 1980s she began buying jewelry made of seed beads, which she would take apart and reassemble before experimenting with her own unique designs.

Beth studied fine art jewelry at universities in California and Kansas, in the United States, and at the Royal College of Art in London under the direction of renown designer Wendy Ramshaw. In 1991, she opened the first of several success bead stores in Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV, where eventually a majority of her business involved custom-designed jewelry for a growing customer base on both coasts.

Beth's designs incorporate the finest quality sterling silver with gem stones and Swarovski crystals to create dazzling jewelry that is timeless in its design and craftmanship. Her jewelry can be found in select gift, jewelry, and high-end craft galleries across the United States.
